States are different steps involved in a PDM lifecycle to mark the progress. By default, the defined states, such as Open, Started, and Completed, are assigned to the categories Backlog, In-Process and Done, respectively. Users can add a new state for each category and later assign it to the PDM lifecycle. Follow the steps to create a new state,

  1. Select Hub from the side navigation and choose the desired Hub from the listed hubs

  1. Select the PDM Life Cycle State module and click on the Add button (on Top Right) to create a new State

  1. Enter the Mandatory Fields which will be marked with “*”, and click on the Add button to complete the process

  1. On successful creation, to make the state default, click on the Default option corresponding to the respective states

  1. To delete the state, click on the Delete option corresponding to the respective states

Notes:

  • While creating the state, the color code can be random, but users can customize it based on their needs
  • There is an option to set state as a default set during status creation
  • Hub admin and above hold the authority to create a PDM Life Cycle State
  • During the PDM lifecycle creation, the state that is set as default will be shown on the lifecycle board based on the category
  • Once the state is assigned to the existing PDM lifecycle or set to Default, it becomes non deletable
