RFI stands for Request for Information, it is used to obtain information when there are insufficient details in the project models. The "Manage RFI" option is utilized in the SolidWorks application to create and manage RFIs, allowing users to communicate directly within the SolidWorks model. This option becomes enabled once the model interacts with the Enginero project.


RFI Overview

Follow the step below to access and manage RFI’s associated with the Revit model in the Revit application,


  1. Click on the Manage RFI option under the Enginero tab from the ribbon panel

  1. Displays the RFIs related to the model opened in SolidWorks. Users can search for RFIs using the search bar and Click on the Refresh icon to revise with updated RFIs

  1. Click on the Filter icon to quickly find or narrow down RFIs based on specific criteria such as By project or model, Sort by, RFI Type, Sub-RFI Type, Status, Priority, Assignee, Start Date, and End Date

  1. Click on the RFi to view it in the SolidWorks model with highlighted elements and know about its details, which have been divided into various sections such as Overview, Comments, and History
    1. Overview - Display the general information and can add reference documents through the attachments option
    2. Comments - Display the user comments about the respective RFI
    3. History - Display the activities of the respective RFI
